All Aboard Puffing Billy!

*Choo-Choo*!

All aboard Puffing Billy!  This is one of Australia oldest, surviving steam trains.  First opened in 1900, this narrow gauge railway travels nearly 15 miles through the Dandenong Ranges, near Melbourne.  Beginning from a depot near Belgrave station in the town of Belgrave, Australia, this is primarily a tourist attraction, but don’t let that turn you away from one of the most scenic train rides in the country.  The preferred way of riding this train is by hanging out of the open-sided carriages.  The scenery is absolutely beautiful; a verdant landscape that is nothing short of beautiful.  I can’t guarantee you’ll run into a mob of kangaroos on the side of the track, but you’ll run into a mob of eager tourists!
