The original MacKay radio towers were built in 1927. The Big-Blow-of-1938 knocked both down. The outbreak of WWII expedited the new replacement towers. The antenna was hung between the towers. Napeaque was the sending towers. The receiving towers were off what is how Wireless Way, North Sea, NY. It was point-to-point radio and the antennas had to be separated. The operators were in North Sea listening to the nearby receiving antenna. The operators keyed outgoing messages to Napeaque by land wire. One of the replacement towers was torn down.
