Eating outside, or dining al fresco, is one of the best ways to enjoy a meal.  The fresh air and the ambiance of nature is enough to make anyone wanna pull up a chair in the great outdoors.  So what if I told you there was a great al fresco dining option in Chicago?  Wait, don’t balk at the city choice just yet.  Situated on Superior Street, just off of Rush Street, Sunny Side Up offers up some of the best breakfast’s that the Windy City has to offer.  Guests have the option of dining either inside, or underneath some of the nicest and shadiest trees in downtown Chicago.

I would highly recommend the classic two eggs and corned beef hash.  Honestly, can anyone truly go wrong with this diner staple of savory corned beef, served under a bed of fluffy eggs and roasted potatoes?  All you need is a knife, fork, and maybe a bottle of hot sauce!

As much as I love the first option, the truly amazing thing to get here is a plate of, wait for it…  BACON PANCAKES!  Those is the know probably know this dish from Cartoon Network’s smash-hit series Adventure Time.  Who can forget Jake the Dog serenading viewers with:

Bacon Pancakes, Makin’ Bacon Pancakes

Take some bacon, and I’ll put it in a pancake

At this diner, you can cozy up to the dish the made the Land of Ooo famous, by way of Chicago!  Available in buttermilk or buckwheat, the bacon adds both texture and a savoriness that really combines the two tastes we so often crave: sweet and salty.  It explains why things like salted caramel and candied bacon have become hot items in the gastronomic world lately.  But as if the cakes couldn’t get any better, it is paired with two scoops of vanilla butter; the REAL THING with specks of vanilla bean in each spread!  Topped off with maple syrup and hot cup of coffee, this will be one breakfast you won’t soon forget!  Just make sure you save room for lunch.  After all, this is Chicago!
