Dubrovnik

When many tourists think of Croatia, Dubrovnik seems to be the first city that comes to mind; the city has a proud reputation as being one of the most iconic seaside ports in all of Europe, if not the world. Known for crystal clear waters, orange roofs, stone forts, and seaside roads. During the 1990’s, however, the city came under fire, literally, from shelling and blasting from the Yugoslav Civil War. The iconic city walls and forts took a beating, and so did the city’s tourism industry. Years later, the fighting ceased, and the city’s walls were rebuilt, and now, Durbrovnik enjoys its status as being one of the most visited cities in the Mediterranean.
